"Nadir" Has Been Posted

I'm dancing. I just posted my latest story in the "Twilight Child" story arc: "Nadir". Here is a link to it:

Nadir

If you haven't read any of the other stories in the arc, I suggest you start with "Twilight Child" and read the stories in order. The stories are listed in order with their links in my "Links" area on the right side of this web page.

Let me know what you think! If you cannot leave a review on fanfiction.net because you don't have an account there, feel free to leave a comment on this blog. I look forward to hearing from everybody.

Well, you know my opinion, since I beta read it for you. But to those who haven't read it, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!? It's Christmas in June!!

That was so sad! I wanted to give Gar and Raven big hugs through the whole thing, especially chapter 12. Dwah, I'm glad things are okay for them. Poor Gar... I really felt for him during all of that, because he's lost so many people close to him already. Raven had a point too: she had to do what was right. It was tough getting through chapter 12 on, because they were both right and both wrong and they're so damn subborn.
That and Gar's own feeling of inadequecy. He's always had that problem around the older Titans, hasn't he?
And Raven always feeling like things are her fault...Gah! You nail these characters so well.
Again, I'm glad things worked out for them. (Seeing shapes in the clouds was adorable!)

I don't know what surprised me most. The return of Sebastian, the return of Jericho, or the return of Matt Logan! (God, I love Matt. Can't wait for that one shot)

Putting Joey in Sebastian's body is... creepy, but cool. Joey's jeolousy in interesting, especially since Gar was originally jeolous of him. Poor, sweet Joey. He's so disoriented, like a lost child. (Uhoh, what if Sebastian gains control again?!?)

I liked the inclusion of Wally, and the tensions he brought into the tower. Him and Dick were being such jerks. At least Kory was there to tell Dick to shut up before she kicked him. Will Kory and the rest show up in the next installment?
And at least Wally's better now. Dick still needs to be taken care of...

Slade was good too.
And the villians having a bet about who Beast Boy is dating? Priceless.

Who is the lady coming for Raven? I don't know!

Again, great characterization with a great blend of drama, romance, and action. Chapters were a bit shorter this time around, but that's okay. You said what you needed to.

Hi Sara! I'm so glad you liked it. I really wanted to capture the emotions here as things felt like they were closing in on Raven. BB's overprotectiveness, Jericho, Blood and then Slade. I think by the time Slade showed up, she'd had enough.

I think Gar has felt insecure around the others for a while. I'd really like to see him come into his own. And I do want Raven to stop thinking that every darn thing is her fault.

I love writing Matt Logan! I am working on the one-shot. It's just very, very slow.

I thought putting Joey in Blood's body would be an interesting twist on getting him back into the real world. It's going to lead to some very intersting situations down the road.

I really did want a resolution to the Wally/Rae issue. He is such a good guy, and I wanted them to be friends now that they've both had some time apart.

The lady coming for Raven mentions that her name is "Azar" early in the story (chapter 2). The question is -- is it the Azar that we know from Raven's backstory? Or is it someone else by the same name? This will be cleared up in the next story. I just wanted to introduce her here. Suffice it to say, she becomes a very important character from here on out.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment on the story. I do appreciate it!

Yeah, I noticed the mystery woman refered to herself as Azar, but I don't have my comics with me (I'm at my mom's house), but I'm pretty sure THE Azar had blue eyes...what are you planning for us next?

Oh, and I meant to ask: where'd you get the idea that Raven might have a hint of an English accent? I get the theory that she may sound a bit like a Gothamite, but English? Has that come up before?

Hi Sara,

Well, I just always imagined her with one. You know how on movies most "mysterious" or "magical" people have a British-type accent? I have no proof of what her accent really sounds like, so I just used my imagination on that one.

There is more than one Azar. The Azar we met is the granddaughter of the original Azar. Ever wonder why they have the same name? That's all I'm gonna say for now -- don't want to spoil too much for ya. Suffice it to say, this lady will surprise you.
